Magnolia Pearl – Behind the Scenes

March 11, 2008 · 9 Comments

I oh-so-love Magnolia Pearl bags and clothing, it’s hippie glam at it’s finest–along with being green, they  recycle vintage textiles by finding and turning them into amazing works of art. Magnolia Pearl is also featured in Country Living magazine’s April 2008 issue. Check out the article and photo montage. The big news is that she’ll soon have a book – due out this summer.

So, naturally, I was thrilled to find these two videos that Robin “Pearl” Brown (aka, Magnolia Pearl) created to showcase some of her new Spring clothing and give a behind-the-scenes insight into how Robin’s mind works…

Clothing and purses looked great….however I couldn’t see them very well because whoever was taping was not using light to their advantage. The story was moving and inspirational, but in the future, please use better lighting and center on the merchandise a bit longer and closer.

Robin’s Interview? Looked like a bunch of girls…one in particular…goofying around. If it was an advertisement to show off the clothing…it missed. All it amounted to was close ups on Robin or whoever. I’m not looking for a date, I’m shopping.

Pearl jewelry and anything vintage looks amazing. There are tons of great finds in vintage jewelry and clothing if you shop around especially online.

Love Robin Browns Designs .Vidios are so free spirited i enjoyed the remake of somewhere over the rainbow i downloaded it to my myspace to cheer me up if i am feeling down.I visited a boutique when i left my home in indiana on vacation this past july called Haberdashery.I was in fredricksburg to visit my cousin and i looked and asked high and low if any store owner had heard of Magnolia Pearl Robins amazing line.I was told just walk across the street to haberdashery and i would find some items at a boutique. So how cool is that !!I could’nt take picture and they only carry the clothing but it was a treat i will never forget as i was shown a dress Robin had made just for the store.I guess she is friends with the owner and had been in the store to stock july 4th weekend.Wow i really did’nt think i would actually stumble across my dream mission .See Dreams Really Do Come True !!Right Robin lol Thanks for listening. Reba

I’ve been to Haberdashery inFredericksburg and they have the cutest things! Havent’ been there in a couple of years though, but heard that they were carrying Magnolia Pearl clothing (right as it was launching) so I dropped in to gawk. It’s worth a stop if you’re in town…that’s for sure!

I happened upon Magnolia Pearl in two different issues of Country Living magazine. When a new issue arrives, I typically cut out any ideas or recipes from the previous month’s issue before I toss it. In both issues, I had of course, clipped out Robin’s information. In the second most recent one, that’s where I realized I could enjoy her website and all the selection of clothes, purses and her home decorating style! I have become a totally obsessed ‘Pearl’ fan now. And I was happy to see that Robin was actually raised in Northern California (where I’m from and still live). I grew up in the 60’s also (a smidge older though!). My fiance` also loves her style and can’t wait to see me in something of hers. I wrote Robin and what do you know? She wrote me back almost immediately with a very nice email. I was very pleasantly surprised and pleased that she did with her sweet email. I can’t wait to see more of Robin’s style in more magazines. I’ve got her book on order through Amazon. Can’t wait for that!!! And one day, I hope to really see her things in person and meet her. She’s a true inspiration! Keep up the great artistic work, Robin ‘Pearl’ Brown!
